3 Morning Essentials For Lazy Girls

Well, this is unprecedented! I am up a full half an hour before I have to leave the house. I know that some of you would be scrambling around to get ready at this point but I am very much a roll outa bed kinda gal and since both of my kids are old enough to ready themselves for school, I'm afforded the luxury or every minute of sleep I can get. It's blissful.. only I keep reading about how getting up early is amazing for productivity and that your whole day will be more positive if you do it.. so I'm trying it.Actually, I might even have time for a coffee------ok, I'm back. Actually threw on some clothes and a bit of bronzer too so now I'm ready to chatter away until the very last second. Usually by this point Milo's been in at least 6 times asking me when I'm getting up (because he's a 6 year old stress head and Mummy's lazy routine does not work for him) but today he's fairly content watching his iPad in bed. Full clothed. Coat and shoes included. Do any of your children have this obsessive side? He will ask me over and over when sports day is if my first answer doesn't sound 100% confident. On the way to school he will tell me 'I know we're going to be late' even thought he cannot tell the time. Next week a major road is closing so this whole getting up early may have to continue for the sake of my childs sanity.Anyway, I actually jumped on here to chat about some of my morning essentials.. I wonder if I can jot them all down and get a picture in this thing before I have to leave. Wouldn't that me a little Monday miracle?

  1. I do not wash my face - pause for gasps of horror - but I do splash water on it and liberally spritz myself with Caudalie Beauty Elixir - Milo just came in and asked what time it was - I've fallen back in love with this product in a big way. I treated myself to a big bottle for my birthday and actually used it (it's expensive!) and my skin has never been clearer. I think I heard something bad about the alcohol content many moons ago and convinced myself that I was only buying it for the smell (still 50% accurate) but there's a reason it was such a blogger fave, it's awesome! I'm probably going to get through a bottle every 2 months at the rate I'm using it and I've decided that I can justify that for the only consistent step in my skincare routine. It's stupidly refreshing, chills me out when I'm feeling tense and wakes me up every morning- spritzes a bit more - it's just lovely.
  2. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + Unifiant.. what a mouthful! Another oldie but goodie I've rediscovered recently - Milo's brought in the dog, hopefully I'll be able to think through his grunting - and since my skin has been pretty clear anyway (thanks, Caudalie) it's just the coverage I'm looking for! Very sheer, really more to even me out but it has skincare benefits too. I think it's supposed to help clear skin, unclog pores and even lighten dark marks? Don't quote me, I could look this up but as we've discussed, I'm on a clock. I have 4 more minutes, in fact and I still haven't snapped that pic. Anyway, I use the shade light and I would recommend it if you're looking for something simple.
  3. Of course, I'm a Mum and a late-night-oholic so a tint may be fine for my face but there are areas that need a little more attention. Enter Bobbie Brown Corrector in Porcelain Peach. This was actually sent to me along with a few other bits from the brand last year and I thought I was going to hate it. I assumed it would be dry and cakey and more for the heavy coverage-crowd but no! It's so creamy and blendable!! Not at all what you'd expect and an absolute staple for me. I've used different colours in different areas before but this one seems to do the job all over for my pasty winter skin. I use it under my eyes, around my nose and on any breakouts (again, non right now, thanks, Caudalie!) and never reach for anything else. It's a wonder.

So there you go, I've been super minimal lately. I've had my eyebrows microbladed, I have on semi permanent (I can never spell that word, hopefully spell-check caught it!) lashes and am open to any other procedures that can cut time out of my morning routine so that I can stay in bed as long as possible - scratch that, this is the new me, I forgot - so that I can get lots of blogging stuff done before work. These 3 products perk me up a bit when I want to do the bare minimum.. now let's see if I can get a picture taken before- oops.. we're 3 minutes over already. Milo is going to kill me.*we got to school on time and I'm uploading the pictures from the car after drop off. My internet is so poor we may as well have dial up at this stage so there was no chance 3 pictures were going to upload (there will hopefully be a video up later that I've been uploading since SATURDAY!!) anyway, very productive, off to work 👍🏻
