Revlon Mascara / The Capsule Collection

I'm a sucker for a new mascara but have stayed pretty faithful to just one over the past 12 months. Maybelline Lash Sensational has become my holy grail but as a beauty blogger I can't possibly find a product I'm permanently satisfied with.. where would be the fun in that? This new library of mascara's from Revlon arrived at just the right time to get me excited about switching things up again and rather than just talk you through them all I thought it would be better to show you how they each worked for me. For a long time I thought it was ALL about the brush but I've come to realise that there really is no way to judge a mascara by its wand. You have to try it for yourself. Some of these really surprised me, I tend to like a spiky rubber 'brush' and hate the big thick 'traditional' styles but with a little work each of these gave me decent, yet varying results. My first front runner was the Dramatic Definition, that's the style I'd generally choose and the one I'd have picked out as my potential favourite ahead of testing.. the real winner however has to be the Ultimate All-In-One. The tiny applicator takes some getting used to but it holds just the right amount of product to give volume while the practically non existent 'spikes' (what do we call these rubber bristles??) manage to separate and lengthen. It's magic. There are no misses here.. even the larger applicators gave a soft but full effect that I quite liked.. even if I do always smudge them all over my lids. It's going to come down to preference, if your lashes are naturally long you might just want some oomph.. I'm coaxing mine in to something from nothing so the length/define ranges tend to work best for me.I'm told this collection will replace mascara's across the entire Revlon range which I personally think is a great idea. It simplifies the process of shopping for something new, clearly labelling each by purpose makes it easier (in theory) for you to pick what you might actually want rather than having to read between the slogans and jargon.Available online here*PR Samplerevlon-mascara-collection
