In Shower Essentials

Having moved house very recently I was excited to get in and organise my beauty products so you can imagine my HORROR when I discovered that this was the only storage in our shower. Not only that but it's impossible to add any - I'll show you properly in another post. Irritating as this was initially it's made me really think about my shower essentials as I can't have multiple bottles scattered around all over the place. I had to get it down to the basics and these are they..

I am OBSESSED with this Balance Me Cleanse & Smooth Balm. Nothing makes my skin feel cleaner while leaving it soft and plump. Amazing! It smells nice, feel super luxurious (it's like a liquid balm, you just have to try it for yourself) and when I cleanse with a piping hot wash cloth I feel like I've been to the spa. I've neglected my skin lately and developed a monster spot I just couldn't shift but once I unpacked everything and started using this again it improved almost immediately. It's not the cheapest cleanser but I think it's the best I've tried!

I'm on my second bottle of the femfresh Daily Gel Wash now and I'm entirely converted. I've used their products off and on for years after my Auntie recommended them to me as a teenager, I'm fairly certain at the time I was super embarrassed but hey, it's life ladies! Some parts are more sensitive than others and need a little more care and femfresh has a low pH balance for those delicate areas. It's not a huge adjustment I just replaced my regular shower gel and it's nice to know there's not a chance of my daily routine causing irritation. Their Freshening Cloths are also excellent for on the go … long journeys, camping etc.. Essential!

Moving on from gentle products to the opposite, Lush Rub Rub Rub is pretty much the Ronseal of body products isn't it? I feel like that reference might be a little dated now I've used it but I'm committing.. if you're lost, google it! Rub Rub Rub is a body and (wait for it) HAIR scrub that's super invigorating, I haven't dared use it on my scalp yet since I've had some breakage issues recently (more on that in a moment) but I'd love to know what you thought if you've tried it! On my body it's just a very scrubby scrub, I want to say harsh but that sounds negative.. it is but that's what I like. It just makes me feel extra clean. I'm not sure about the scent yet, very fresh but in a soapy way which is not usually my thing but it's no big deal. TIP: for an EXTRA scrubby scrub use on your dry skin before you turn the shower on!

Lastly I've been loving the Redken Extreme range for my hair lately. I talked about these products in a post the other day so you've heard me rave already but I had to include them as they are sitting on that shelf after all. For those who missed that post they're protein treatments so need to be alternated or followed up with something that will give a moisture kick and they smell exactly like the Rose Jam products from Lush.. YUM! I've already noticed less hair loss and am hoping using the system long term will stop it altogether.. watch this space!

Since my shower shelf is so small I might start doing a regular 'currently using' style post when I switch things out, maybe on a monthly/bi-monthly basis.. let me know if you'd like to see that and what your shower essentials are right now!
